Joy Flower Pot is an artisanal flower shop based in the Lower East Side. Our mission is to provide the city with experimental, whimsical floral arts that speak to the different aesthetics of New York and the unique style of the people.
We want to be at the forefront of people creating novel and meaningful arrangements, shopping experiences, private events, and community engagements. Using the medium of flowers, we seek to convey brand aesthetics to consumers in a visually engaging way and lead them throughout spaces with intentional floral design and installation.
Growing up in her family's garden in Việt Nam, a passion for nature came second nature to florist-owner Kelly Nguyễn (she/her) and she felt lucky to get to experience it every day. Part of her dream is to help provide access to all the different varieties of flowers in a walk-in shop, outside of a specialty floral studio setting.
A Lower East Side resident of more than ten years, Kelly was originally a regular at Joy Flower Pot, when it was called Joy's Flowers and Gifts. As the years passed, the previous owner Joy looked to retire and Kelly took over the store in October 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic, in hopes of preserving the presence of a local flower shop in the LES community.
Every arrangement done at Joy Flower Pot is made with care by Kelly and her team of talented florists. Kelly is self-taught and is always evolving her work for the times. Kelly's personal favorite flowers are poppies, ranunculus, cosmos, and anemones.
